New challenge to the mecca of entertainment, Broadway

It’s been always our dream to be on the Broadway stage since we established for 23 years.
Not limited to the Japanese fans in Japan, but we wanted the New-Yokers to watch our shows since they know the best in entertainment.
With the one clear goal, we have tried everything we can do to let them know that we are here in Broadway.
We were everywhere, on TVs, radio, on-line media, New York Times, cabs….
The most acclaimed Ramen restaurant in NY, IPPUDO, even had all the wall decorated with DRUM TAO.
But it didn’t mean anything; we hadn’t sold half of tickets.
Two days before the curtain rose, we were struggling desperately.




Out of the blue, we got one offer from TV show.

Performing for “the Late Show with Stephen Colbert”

Everybody in US knows this CBS’s top TV show.
With Bernie Thunders and Ben Stiller, CBS wanted us to play in the show, JUST ONE DAY BEFORE OUR PREMIER.
Surrounded by those great audiences, we played 5mins performance.

Not only the New-Yokers, but all the people in U.S watched us playing.

And within this 5 mins, everything has been changed. Literary, everything.

Miracle

The show rose its curtain with the crazily increasing reputation and change of atmosphere.
All standing applause by people who were from different countries and genders.
Seeing the audience standing, giving the applause right after the show just made it clear that TAO was welcomed and approved by New York City, the mecca of entertainment.
This was the moment we have been waiting and aiming for 23 years.
The great incidents made our dream come true, and let us to the further future.

The Whole New Stage

Non-stop applause from the audience in the center of the world, New York, it just clears out that “Japan is amazing”.
We have tried to bring to the world not only the rhythm of Japanese Drum, but also the Japanism by detailed stage set, beautifully produced costumes and the perfect performance in tune with music.
DRUM TAO will continue to present you the coolness of Japan.
We are planning of creating the TAO Theatre in Broadway, and become “THE JAPANESE ENTERTAINMENT SHOW” even with other strong competitors around the world.
